FISH Visayas Project Conducts Training on Boat Operation and Basic Preventive Maintenance in Pres. Carlos P. Garcia

Pres. Carlos P. Garcia, Bohol - A one-day training on boat operation and preventive maintenance was conducted on Tuesday, 6th of December 2022, following the deployment of the Glass Bottom Boat to the Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry and LGU - PCPG.
The training touches on critical elements of boat operation, maintenance, and management of training demo equipment. These are relevant for the monitoring, protection, and conservation of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs).
Participants of the training include selected members of the People's Organizations of Aguininghong Pundok sa Yanong Mananagat (APYM), and Kahugpungang sa Gagmayng Mananagat sa Saguise (KAGAMASA). The LGU's Task Force Kalikupan and fish warden also took part in the training.
PCG Sub-Station Commander, Mr. Michael Mendija and Boat Mechanic, Mr. Jay Inocentes Dehing were the resource speakers of the event. More than this, the training was graced with the presence of the vice focal person for FISH Visayas Project-PCPG, Hon. Alfonso Diangco, and the PCPG Municipal Agriculturist, and the focal person of the FISH Visayas Project in PCPG, Mr. Nestor Jugarap.
On the 18th of October 2022, a glass bottom boat was reinstated to the Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Local Government Unit of Pres. Carlos P. Garcia. The Glass Bottom Boat (GBB) is used as floating training demo equipment for effective monitoring, protection, and conservation of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and other protected areas within LGU PCPG.
