Pres. Carlos P. Garcia, Bohol – Following the training on Bangus Fish Cage Technology Culture in Ubay, 5,500 bangus fingerlings, each 5 to 6 inches in size, along with 30 sacks of starter pellet feeds, were delivered to the fish cages of the Aguininghong Pundok sa Yanong Mananagat (APYM) and the Kahugpungan sa Gagmay’ng Mananagat sa Saguise (KAGAMASA) on June 21, 2024. The FISH Visayas Project allocated 2,750 fingerlings and 15 sacks of feeds to each organization.

To ensure precise counting and efficient logistics, the FISH Visayas Project team, together with APYM and KAGAMASA officers, oversaw the counting and facilitated the pick-up, delivery, and dispersal of the fingerlings early on June 21, 2024. They were accompanied by technical staff from the local government unit of Pres. Carlos P. Garcia and DA-BFAR, ensuring a smooth and organized process.

As the bangus fingerlings adapt to their new environment in the APYM and KAGAMASA fish cages, the FISH Visayas Project and its partners remain committed to supporting the ongoing success of these initiatives. The project will continue to monitor the fingerlings’ mortality and provide necessary follow-up support, including the delivery of grower feeds in the coming months. This collaborative effort underscores a dedication to enhancing local aquaculture practices and ensuring the long-term sustainability and growth of the fish farming enterprises in Pres. Carlos P. Garcia.

The pick-up, delivery, and dispersal of bangus fingerlings and feeds to APYM and KAGAMASA POs aspires to achieve Result Area 3: Market Access of the FISH Visayas Project.
