Cebu City, Philippines – AFOS Foundation – Philippines is proud to recognize POGS Kitchenette, a start-up catering service run by three graduates of the K to 12 PLUS Project.
Mr. Kevin Orbiso Sabido, Mr. Alimar Catantan, and Mr. Christian Ray Bardisco founded the start-up in October 2022. The three entrepreneurs were graduates of the dual education and training program under Food Manufacturing Cluster piloted through the K to 12 Plus Project. The Project is implemented by AFOS Foundation in partnership with Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Philippine School of Culinary Arts, Barrio Luz National High School and companies such as Central Seafoods, Inc., San Jose Bakeshop, Anita’s Home Bakeshop and Magic Melt Foods, Inc.
The gentlemen acquired the Basic Qualification Certificate as Food Processing Assistants during their Senior High School under Tech-Voc Track and is further assessed and certified by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry as Food Processing Technicians through CCCI-Assessment, Certification, and Accreditation Services Unit during the Project’s piloting of its Plus Element.
The ACAS Unit of CCCI continuously promotes the relevance of dual education and training and the role of the private sector in developing the country’s workforce. Under the FISH Visayas Project, CCCI’s ACAS deployed learners for In-Company training to partner private enterprises as Quality Inspector and Seafood Production Workers. At the end of the program, learners will undergo assessment and certification to evaluate their readiness for the labor market.
