Siquijor, Siquijor – Thirty-two (32) fishers from the people’s organizations of the Ihalason Fisherfolks Association (IFA), Maite Resource Development Association (MRDA), Caticugan Farmers and Fisherfolks Association (CAFFA), and the Siquijor Inland Fish Groomers Association (SIFGA) completed the Training on Fish Value Costing and Pricing conducted on May 30, 2023 in Siquijor, Siquijor.

The training concentrates on pricing and costing concepts which help identify factors and gaps on establishing product cost and pricing based on market-driven standards. The training presents the strategic management process of profitable costs and pricing of product lines following appropriate planning and design. The fishers were adept on the chain of product costing starting with the identification of potential customer needs to calculation of the acceptable target sales price for the product.

The training was proactively facilitated by the Siquijor Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (SCCII) and the College of Business and Management Administration of the Siquijor State College. Ultimately, the training serves as a baseline to the development of the seaweed bread, which will soon be developed by the Maite Resource Development Association (MRDA).

The training aspires to achieve Result Area 1: Training for Fishermen and MSMEs of the FISH Visayas Project
