FISH Visayas Project, SCCII and DTI Strengthen Entrepreneurial Skills of Fisherfolk Organizations in Siquijor

San Juan, Siquijor - The FISH Visayas Project, through its partners the Siquijor Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (SCCII) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 7 Siquijor Provincial Office conducted a one-day Basic Entrepreneurial Development Training aimed at enhancing entrepreneurial competence to four fisherfolk organizations in San Juan and Siquijor, Siquijor. The activity was conducted on Friday, February 17, 2023.

The training successfully emphasized practical tools and tips on business management amidst volatile situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Relevant processes on enterprise management and DTI's support programs and services were also highlighted to encourage an innovative, market-responsive business that will help spur economic growth in the area. The training module was provided by DTI's internal resource speakers, Mr. Jebe Mag-usara and Ms. Gemma Mansera.

The activity successfully elicited proactive engagement from the 37 participants of partner people's organizations of Caticugan Farmers & Fisherfolk Association (CAFFA), Siquijor Inland Fish Groomers Association (SIFGA), Maite Resource Development Association (MRDA), and Ihalason Fisherfolk Association (IFA).
