FISH Visayas Project Advisory Committee Convene for the 2nd Strategic Session

cebu City, Cebu – On December 5, 2023, the FISH Visayas Project Advisory Committee (PAC) convened for its second bi-annual assembly at the Cebu Chamber Centre. The gathering served as a comprehensive review of the FISH Visayas Project’s achievements from 2022 to 2023, focusing on key discussions aligned with project targets and interventions. At the same time, present the activities for the 1st quarter of 2024 for the approval of the PAC members. This strategic dialogue aimed to foster an environment of well-informed decision-making among the partners covering the interventions for Bohol, Cebu, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor.

During the session, important members of the PAC were present. These include Mr. Charles Kenneth Co, who is the President of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., and was appointed as the PAC Chair. Also present were Ms. Joy Lorena Segismar, the CCCI Executive Director, Ms. Yvette Hope P. Labus, the Project Manager and Philippine Resident Representative of AFOS Foundation, Mr. Mario Ruinata, the Regional Director of the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region VII (DA-BFAR 7), along with Mr. Joel Clapano and Ms. Esperanza Melgar, Assistant Regional Director of the  Department of Trade and Industry Region VII (DTI 7).

The collaborative efforts of the main project implementers during the session demonstrated a commitment to enhancing project management approaches for the FISH Visayas Project. Subsequently, the unanimous endorsement of project interventions and plans solidifies the committee’s dedication to executing a strategic roadmap, ensuring the sustained progress and positive impact of the FISH Visayas Project in the Central Visayas region.
