Fish Visayas News Letters

The Project aims to increase and make sustainable the incomes of fisherfolk and MSME in the Fisheries and related Food Value Chains by qualifying BMO in Central Visayas to provide services in dual training and certification, in the promotion of sustainable fisheries and in marketing.

Working for the Enhancement of the Chamber & Association Network in the Visayas & Caraga (WECAN) aims to enhance the framework conditions for the Development of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) in the Visayas and Caraga regions by capacitating chambers of commerce and industry associations to develop and sustain an enhanced set of services for their constituents (mostly MSME).

Optimizing & Upscaling Roles in the Food Supply Chain (OURFood) aims to improve the income situation of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) in the Food Sector in Cebu and Negros Islands by improving their competitiveness through a Training and Qualification Program. MSME in this context includes smallholder farmers in selected barangays (villages) in the partner areas.

AFOS News Letters

At Project closing, all participating smallholder farmer groups either attained PhilGAP certification or aligned their farming practices to this standard and continue to serve the identified markets. The Food Safety portfolio remains as a service of the partner BMOs to date. One local government unit has passed the first Food Safety Ordinance. A GMP Technical Specifications Guide for micro-sized bakeries was developed in cooperation with and adopted by the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
